How do I access the Bigfoot Filtering service?

To access the Filtering feature of your Bigfoot for Life account, login to the Email Forwarding site, then click on the "Filtering" link found in the "Manage Account" taskbar located on the left side of your screen. You will be taken to the "Filtering" page where you may set up your filters.

How do I add a filter?

To add a filter, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the "Add" button.
  2. Select which attribute of the incoming e-mail you want your filter criteria applied to: "Charset (e.g. kr, cn, jp,Big5,EUC-KR,shift_jis,korean)", "Message", "From Field", "To and CC Field" or "Subject".
  3. Select the filter condition: "Contains", "Does not Contain", "Starts With", "Ends With".
  4. Enter your filter criteria.
  5. Specify what you want to do with the email that satisfies the filter condition and criteria. If you choose "Reject", the email will be automatically dropped. If you choose "Deliver to", you have to enter a valid email address where you want the email to go. If you have entered a new email address, you will be sent a confirmation email for verification. You only need to do this once.
  6. Click on the "Create Filter" button to activate your filter.

How many filters do I need to fill in?

You can set up as many as fifty (50) filters. If you don’t enter a filter, all emails will be delivered to your forwarding and distribution addresses by default.

I received an error message after I submitted my Filter Form, why?

Go back to the Filtering edit form and make sure that you filled out each field correctly.

This seems pretty complicated, do I really need to do this?

Filtering is not for the faint of heart. It is a sophisticated service that should be used by people who have a real need to organize their e-mail delivery that is unique to them. If you don't really need to filter your incoming e-mail, it might be better to select basic Forwarding or Distribution.

How can I tell what Filters I have set up?

Just go to the Filtering page and all your filters will be listed there. Select the filter if you want the criteria for that filter displayed. If you want to edit your filter options, just overwrite the existing data. If you want to delete a Filter, select or highlight it then click on the “Delete” button.
